What To Expect

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
This afternoon-only tour commences with an air-conditioned transfer with private guide and driver from your accommodation to the Wat Prathat Doi Suthep. This temple (Wat means temple) is to Chiang Mai what St. Peter's Cathedral is to Rome - it's a must-see. Regarded as the most sacred temple in northern Thailand, located high on Doi Suthep Hill, 1676 metres above sea level and overlooking Chiang Mai, this landmark of immense importance is home to numerous Buddha images, murals and sweeping views across the region down below. Like any respectable visitor, climbing a 306-step staircase to be rewarded by the sight of the temple's golden spire, and a birds-eye view of the city below is upping up the ante when reaching the top.

1 hours • Admission Ticket Included

Wat Pha Lat
On the way back down Suthep Hill, we enter the serene complex of Wat Pha Lat, constructed in the heart of the forest and with the soothing sounds of crashing water of a nearby waterfall; it aims to set the tone for a moment of peace.

60 minutes • Admission Ticket Included

Wat Suan Dok
Finally, we enter the compound of the Buddhist University of Chiang Mai Campus and the Wat Suan Dok. This educational centre forms the foundation for Buddhism and Culture in the region and it is here where you will be having the opportunity to chat with a monk (English speaking only). Topics such as the Thai way of life, Buddhist ethics and Thai culture will pass the revue as your interaction with these representatives of the Buddhist faith tells guests their views on what is important.

After this enlightened conversation, it is time to head back to your Chiang Mai hotel where we schedule to arrive at around 6:30 pm.
