What To Expect

Siri-Wattana Market / Tha-Nin Market
Kick off your Chiang Mai food tour in one of the best food markets in the city. Here, you'll indulge in several Northern Thai tastes different tastes and learn about their origins.

Afterwards, you'll be whisked away to try the best bowl of Chiang Mai's famous khao soi - thick, silky coconut curry topped with crispy noodles, roasted chilli paste and pickled greens.

It doesn't end there though. We know a hidden little barbeque hut where you'll tuck into mouth-watering grilled chicken Thai-style. Watch your spatchcocked beauty sizzle over charcoal before being served with zingy papaya salad and spicy sauce.

Finish at a tiny ice cream joint that's been churning out the good stuff for almost 40 years. You can pick any flavour, but you're in Thailand, we'll be disappointed if you stick to vanilla.

Most don't know that Thai cuisine is highly regional. The hilly North is less green curry and pad Thai and more jungle herbs and barbecued meats. Board our private songtheaw truck and get whisked away to some of the best street eats and markets in the city. We don't want to spoil the surprise, but prepare to drool over ladles of creamy khao soi curry with crispy noodles, chilli jam and pickled greens, spatchcocked chickens sizzling over hot charcoal and served with zingy som tum papaya salads and sticky rice, and lemongrass-stuffed sai oua sausages among more than a dozen tastings you'd struggle to find alone.
