What To Expect

Wat Phra Singh
home to the Chiang Mai's most sacred, Chiang sean-style Buddha image. During the Songkran festival, every April 13-15, this image is carried in a parade procession around town so locals can bathe the image with scented water, which brings good luck according to a traditional belief.

It literally means "Temple of the Golden Mountain." This is perched on Doi Kham hill, surrounded by beautiful mountainous landscapes. This temple’s most noticeable feature is an enormous sitting Buddha image displaying the "Calling the Earth to witness mudra." The 17 meters high image on the hill top dominates the area and is visible from miles away.
