The Big Buddha is impressive - not exactly peaceful as still under construction. We stopped at a viewpoint over the city .. there was a very bad singer and violent macaques (don’t take food or you will be mugged 100%) - still it was quite funny. The Wat Chalong temple was really beautiful and well managed - although later in the week we went to a smaller local temple and it was more tranquil and we were the only ones there) which was a bit more special. Phuket old town was beautiful - we went back another day as we wanted more time.
The guide really just got everyone on and off the minibus and told us when to be back - did not go round with us or give any information. In fact we learned more from our driver who became chatty and informative once the guide had got off at our last stop.
